2019 Winter Deaflympics

The 19th Winter Deaflympics will take place on December 12-21, 2019, in Valtellina and Valchiavenna, Italy. The Summer and Winter Deaflympics Games’ main goal is to reunite elite Deaf and hard of hearing athletes from all around the world to compete in various sports while building friendships with people from other countries. The event will reunite over 25 national teams and about 500 to 600 athletes from 6 different sports disciplines. Canada has been taking part in the Games since 1959. This year, CDSA will once again send elite athletes so they can take part in this international competition. In total, there will be 35 athletes from four different disciplines (Curling, Ice Hockey, Alpine Skiing, and Snowboard) that will participate in the Games.
